"Is Google Making Us Stupid?" by Nikolas Carr

The issue of the article „Is Google Making Us Stupid ?” by Nikolas Carr makes me think seriously about how technologies can influence the way that people think. How often does anybody use books, encyclopedias, or a library to find information? Since times when people started to use the Internet, they have been finding information in Google or in other sources. Instead of reading incredible books and articles, people use finished products because somebody already did it. People find it easier to copy information which they need and make some conclusions and summaries.
Using Google, we lose the ability to concentrate and make deep analysis on topics, as all information is processed and arranged, and it does not need any of the brain’s activity. The Internet information is written in a simple and understandable language, and we do not even need to think about the main idea or hidden point because short form of sentences are very clear and easy for perception. As a result, people don’t strain their brains and start using simple words in their lives and conversations between each other.
So, in my opinion, the Internet is the greatest thing which makes people’s lives easier and quicker but technologies go so far that people do not know limits and stay
helpless to do anything without it. Under the influence of people’s laziness, deep concentration and reflection are not working when we are using the Internet. If people go on to use other sources of information and somebody’s ideas, they will never enrich their knowledge to have their own opinions.
